Biography

Born in Humble, TX, Liss LaFleur’ is an American documentary filmmaker known best for her stories of strong characters who reside in new and unexplored worlds. As a pupil of legendary documentarian Mary Ellen Mark, LaFleur’ observes reality with an evocative resonance. Her work has been shown in Iceland, Mexico, and the United States, and is published with Green House Studios in New York.

LaFleur’ is currently an MFA Fellow in the Media Art program at Emerson College, and received a BFA in Photography and a BA in Art History with honors from the University of North Texas where she was named Outstanding Undergraduate and National Egar Scholar. She has worked as a historian and archivist for various galleries and academic institutions, and is currently employed at Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
